JPEG: double sized at lower resolutions (150) with embedded fonts and graphics PDF files (Photoshop PDF preferred) Tiff files (cmyk) 300 dpi for color and grayscale images 600 dpi or higher for black and white bitmap images
Footnotes . . . DIGITAL CAMERAS Known FACTS: Digital cameras have limited memory. Therefore photos are low resolution (72) with very wide widths. So that, when you 'hook up' to a computer . . . and open your 'PHOTOSHOP' and check out IMAGE SIZE . . . you will see: Resolution: 72 . . (for example) Width: 28 inches . . Height 21 inches. This is perfect for e-mailing. This is not suitable for placement within an ad for a magazine.
In PHOTOSHOP . . Change the Resolution from 72 to 300. Change the size to (for example) 5 inches (width). Save as a tiff at the 300 resolution. Save as a PDF. . or Save as a jpeg at 150 resolution. E-mail the jpeg or the PDF to: gail@ameritooldie.com
